Leading Learning in years 1-8: Enriching Social Studies through literacy and numeracy  

A two-day professional learning course from the Aotearoa Social Studies Educators’ Network which will illustrate how to do more than just the basics brilliantly. It will focus on meeting the requirement of one hour reading, writing and maths per day in ways that enrich learning in Social Studies. Opportunities for learning in Science, Environmental Education and the Arts will also be woven throughout the course.

Participants will spend time:

  • exploring progression within the Do progress outcomes

  • developing a sequence of learning across the phases with explicit focus on progression

  • weaving together knowledge outcomes from other learning areas

Times: 19th 10:00am - 4pm

& 20th 9:00am - 3:00pm

Registration fee: $160

Your registration fee covers the catering for lunches, morning tea and light afternoon tea. It does not include dinner, travel and accommodation costs.
